Judy Ling Wong: The First Desert Silence

Abstract of the text which will be published in July 2018, in the Echoes of the Void newsletter  VOICES_

This piece embodies Judy’s reflections on the impact and meaning of the first experience of desert silence in 1981, within the vast void of the Sahara. The experience, as fixed memory, is preserved through a conscious decision never to return to that real world place. The memory is carried in its original form and, at times, evolved at will by the artist as comfort and nourishment in the face of the pain of the dying of aspects of nature.  Her total identification with nature is a gift of the first desert silence.

The text will be available at the end of 2018 in the Echoes of the Void book.
